HelpMeToFly

How HelpMeToFly works

“I'm flying anyway. If someone on the same journey needs a little help, I can be there for them.”

If you need help

  • Create a free account with your name, email address and mobile number. That's all we ask.
  • Tell us about the journey: yours, or that of someone you love, like a parent flying alone.
  • Choose the help that would make the day easier: finding the gate, a connecting flight, language help, arrival and more.
  • Straight away, you'll see travellers going the same way on the same or a nearby date, and why each one is a good match. Click Ask for help to reach out.
  • You don't have to wait for us, or for anyone's approval. Travellers on your route can find your request and offer to help too. We'll email you when they do.
  • Once one of you says yes, a private chat opens so you can plan the day together, and you'll see each other's phone number for the day itself.
  • We warmly recommend a short video call before the journey, so everyone can say hello and agree where to meet.

If you can help

  • Add a trip you're already taking, and choose the kinds of help you're happy to give.
  • On your trip page you'll see people on your route who are hoping for a hand. If you'd like to help someone, click Offer to help. They'll choose whether to accept.
  • When someone asks for your help, we email you. You can accept, or kindly say “not this time”.
  • There's no obligation, ever. You can help at most two travellers per trip.

How matching works

Matching is simple and transparent. We look for trips that start and end at the same airport or city, on the same date or one day either side, where the helper offers at least one kind of help that is needed. We never use your data for anything else.

After the journey

Mark the journey as completed and leave a short rating. Every kind word helps the next family trust a stranger who's really a friend.
